Tillett and Damewood, Auctioneers is pleased to offer a rare selection of postage stamps from China and the United States, without reserves.  The China portion was from a dealer’s stock obtained during the early 1950’s and then stored away since 1972.

The China material is mainly comprised of full (sheets of 200) and part sheets extending from the Martyrs issue of 1932 through the Sun Yat-sen issues of 1945. There is duplication among the Chinese collection.  Some Provinces, semi-postal issues, air mails, postage dues and Military stamps are also present in full sheets and part sheets.  A significant portion of the Chinese stamps are in good color. The China stamps are listed by Scott 1012 catalogue numbers and priced in United State dollars.

Please be advised that all sheets, part sheets and single stamps from these sheets might have defects, perforation separations, toning, staining, glassine adhering, one or more perforation folds, creases, gum disturbances and selvage and/or stamps missing or torn.  These stamps have not seen the light of day since 1972 and some stamps appear to have dried up gum even though an attempt was made to protect them by placing glassine interleafing over the gum during their long storage.

The US portion of the collection is comprised mostly of fine to superb  mint coil material from the 1950’s through the Transportation, Prominent American, Liberty Series, Americana Series, Officials and other issues. Again, there is duplication among the US stamps.  Many of the Transportation coils are in strips of 6 stamps.  Scott Specialized 1012 Catalogue numbers and prices are used as guides.

Auction Terms: Payment by cash, check, Visa or Mastercard; 13-percent buyer's premium on all purchases, 3% discount for cash or check; All items sold as-is, where-is; Not responsible for accidents.
